Earlier this week, we kicked off our `random acts of kindness' column with the story of how PM Advertising was offering complimentary graphic design and social media work to help local businesses promote their services during the coronavirus crisis.
The first person to take them up on it was the TDN's own contributor Dan Liebman, a racing journalist who also owns Staxx BBQ in Frankfort, Ky. The popular barbecue joint is currently not open to the public, but Liebman wanted to get the word out that they do have a drive through which is open-a perfect way to avoid human contact-and through home delivery services. Their popular catering business, where they have carved out a healthy Thoroughbred business during sales time for consignors looking to feed their help on the sales grounds, is also open for business.
Yesterday, PM delivered the ads to them, and they take a humorous look at business in the crisis. “'Cuz you have to wash your hands anyway!” says the first, with a picture of a sloppy looking pulled pork sandwich. The second, also featuring pulled pork, reads, “Pull together. Eat BBQ.”
Liebman was floored. “What a wonderful job they did. I am literally typing this with tears in my eyes at what people are doing for each other.”
Staxx BBQ may be reached at (502) 352-2515, on their website at www.staxxbbq.com and is available for delivery service directly or through www.chownow.com.
